Match Report: Jersey Flegg Cup Round 9 vs Bulldogs

Wests Tigers have suffered a 22-10 loss to the Bulldogs in Round 9 of the Jersey Flegg Cup at a rain-soaked Belmore Sports Ground.

The Tigers posted first points of the match after just five minutes when winger Will Craig crossed out wide before the home side returned fire with back-to-back tries to establish a 12-4 lead at the break.

Wests Tigers centre Maxwell Taotua found the line just one minute into the second half, converted by Zakauri Clarke, to get it back to 12-10.

Bulldogs five-eighth Cassius Tia scored for the home side just minutes later, converting his own try to extend their lead to 18-10.

The trying conditions made for a defensive slugfest for the next 20 minutes before Bulldogs winger Ragarive Wavik crossed to put the game all but out of reach for the Tigers.

A tough loss for Wests Tigers brought to an end a three-game losing streak ahead of next Sunday’s match against the Knights at Lidcombe Oval.
