Wests Tigers have been knocked out of the Tarsha Gale Cup in heartbreaking fashion, after the Roosters Indigenous Academy side scored a last-minute match-winning try to progress to Week 3 of the Finals.

A field-goal attempt from the Roosters was deflected straight into the arms of Luca-Bella Ngatuere-Ongley, who raced away to send her side to victory.

Impressive front-rower Tiresa Leasuasu scored a double for Wests Tigers in the defeat.

Indigenous Academy 22 (Seebeck 2, Ekepati, Ngatuere-Ongley tries; Fletcher 3/4 goals) defeated Wests Tigers 16 (Leasuasu 2, Namua tries; Barnett 2/3 goals) at Leichhardt Oval.

Lisa Fiaola Cup (Under 17s)

Wests Tigers are through to the preliminary finals of the Lisa Fiaola Cup, after the U/17's girls scored a 24-18 finals victory over the Sharks at Leichhardt Oval.

Leading 14-6 at the break, second-half tries to Mia Tonga and Aliana Fasavalu-Fa'amausili helped secure the win for Wests Tigers.

They take on the Central Coast Roosters for a spot in the Grand Final next weekend.

Wests Tigers 24 (Tui, Tautalafua, Faaui, Tonga, Fasavalu-Fa'amausili tries; Faaui 2/5 goals) defeated Sharks 18 (Kolio, Weigand, James tries; Weigand 3/4 goals) at Leichhardt Oval.
