The Magpies led 18-6 at the break and ran away with the result in the second half to contribute to three big wins for Wests Tigers-affiliated sides on Sunday in Newcastle.
Luke Laulilii scored first in just the second minute of the contest, as the winger capitalised off an Eiden Ackland break and offload.
Liam Sutton grabbed the Knights’ first four points of the afternoon before Tony Sukkar steamed onto the ball one off the ruck to power his way to the line for the Magpies’ second.

A Tristan Hope offload then provided the space for Kurt Falls to send Reuben Porter over under the posts to make it 18-6 at half-time.
Falls was once again the provider for Wests as he produced a sweet cut-out ball for Solomona Faataape’s 43rd-minute try.
Logan Aoake’s four-pointer for Newcastle was quickly met by Porter’s second of the afternoon, as Hope grubbered through the line from close range for the interchange forward to plant it down.

After Connor Votano grabbed a third try for the Knights, Hope furthered his outstanding match by scooting from dummy half to help himself to his sixth score of the season.
An outstanding solo try by Kurt Falls was the Magpies’ final try of the afternoon, as the Magpies emerged victorious, 40-24 at McDonald Jones Stadium.
Magpies 40 (Porter 2, Laulilii, Sukkar, Faataape, Hope, Falls tries; Lobb 6/8 goals) defeated Knights 24 (Sutton, Aoake, Votano, Hunt tries; Votano 4/4 goals) at McDonald Jones Stadium.
