
Wests Tigers have fallen to a 46-24 defeat to the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium in Round 5.

The visitors trailed by just two points at half-time, however, Brisbane ran away with the result in the second half.
Jesse Arthars opened the scoring for the Broncos as he pounced on a Ben Hunt grubber kick after six minutes.
Starford To’a was taken into touch by Gehamat Shibasaki shortly after, but Wests Tigers managed to gain good field position early in the match.
They capitalised on the territory when a heads-up play from Lachlan Galvin produced points for 18-year-old winger Luke Laulilii.
Galvin grubbered early in the tackle count and found the flying Laulilii, who scored in the left corner.

Brendan Piakura was then sin-binned for a shoulder to the head, however W,ests Tigers still had to defend multiple sets on their line.
Sunia Turuva and Galvin went on to force the ball free from Ben Hunt as he went to plant the ball down, giving the visitors a confidence boost.
Wests Tigers then managed to score a freakish try to take the lead, as Jahream Bula sliced his way through from a dropout kick return. He drew Reece Walsh to put Turuva over and put Wests Tigers ahead 8-6 after 26 minutes.
Starford To’a went on to grab a third for Wests Tigers when Bula once again laid on a try assist. A third missed conversion of the night, though, meant their lead stayed at just 12-6.

Xavier Willison scored out of dummy half late in the first half, before Adam Reynolds kicked a two-point field goal to give the home side a two-point lead at the break.
Ben Hunt snapped a 40/20 in the opening set of the second period, and they capitalised on the field position when Willison crashed over for his second try of the night.
Adam Reynolds then came up with a chip and chase to score an outstanding solo try shortly after, before the veteran halfback left the field for the remainder of the match through injury.
Halfback Latu Fainu was withdrawn from the match due to HIA protocols, however, Wests Tigers did manage to score the next try. Sione Fainu brushed past several Broncos defenders to collect his third NRL try and get Wests Tigers back in the match.

The Broncos went on to stamp their authority on the contest, though, as Arthars grabbed a second four-pointer, and Billy Walters backed up for Brisbane’s sixth.
Royce Hunt looked to have powered his way over for his first try in Wests Tigers colours to give his side a sniff, however, it was chalked out due to Fonua Pole acting as a driver.
Shibasaki scored Brisbane’s final try of the night before Adam Doueihi set To’a up for a second.
Api Koroisau’s successful conversion and a late penalty goal to Walsh were the final points of the night, as the Broncos emerged 46-24 winners at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane.
