Wests Tigers have fallen to a 26-24 defeat to the Warriors in Round 4 at Campbelltown.

In an absolute thriller, the visiting side ultimately emerged victorious, with a Luke Metcalf penalty goal late in the match securing the win.

A terrific run from Adam Pompey produced the first points of the match, as the centre fended through numerous Tigers defenders to score.

Fonua Pole went on to shrug past James Fisher-Harris and grab Wests Tigers’ first of the evening just seven minutes later, though.

Royce Hunt almost crashed over shortly after entering the action, however, scores remained locked at 6-6.

Wayde Egan was then held up over the line in the 34th minute, but after Samuela Fainu and Sunia Turuva left the field through injury and HIA, respectively, Marata Niukore crashed over for the visitors’ second.

Despite the injuries, Wests Tigers scored an outstanding try through Starford To’a on the stroke of halftime. Lachlan Galvin put Alex Seyfarth through a hole, and the big second-rower drew the fullback to put the Tongan international centre over.

Egan helped set Metcalf up for a try not long after half-time to give the Warriors the lead at 18-12.

Galvin proved the provider for Wests Tigers once again in the 49th minute as he grubber kicked for Solomona Faataape to score.

Latu Fainu was next on the scoresheet as he burst through the line for his third NRL try to make it 24-18.

From there, Terrell May dropped the ball over the line, and Jahream Bula looked to have scored before it was ruled out for obstruction.

Leka Halasima came up with an incredible run down the right touchline to score and level proceedings at 24-24, and Metcalf kicked a penalty goal in the 74th minute to lead 26-24.

Wests Tigers tried desperately to come up with a late match-winner; however just couldn’t come up with a late try.
