Report: Jersey Flegg Round 3 vs Storm

Wests Tigers' Jersey Flegg Cup team has fallen to a 44-18 defeat to Melbourne in Round 3.

The Storm led 28-6 at half-time and maintained their ascendancy into the second period to emerge with a big win at Seabrook Reserve, Broadmeadows.

With Melbourne establishing a 10-0 lead early in the match, speedy Tigers winger Jack Piccirilli ran 90m to score, to get the visitors back into the contest. However, a flurry of tries to the Storm went on to put them ahead 28-6 at half-time.

The Storm made it 34-6 early in the second half to effectively put the match result to bed, however, Josese Lanyon did manage to set Piccirilli up for a second four-pointer with a cut-out ball from dummy half.

A Levi Conti grubber kick set Lachlan Broederlow up for Wests Tigers' final try of the evening, with Melbourne ultimately coming away with a 44-18 win at home.
