Match Report: NSW Women’s Premiership Round 11 vs WV Magpies

Wests Tigers have ended their NSW Women’s Premiership season in defeat, as they fell 22-14 to Wentworthville Magpies on Saturday.

The visitors travelled to Ringrose Park on the back of some strong late-season form, having won three out of their last four matches, however after falling behind early, they couldn't claw themselves back into the game.

Anneka Wilson opened the contest’s scoring for the Magpies and centre Mia Middleton extended their lead to 8-0 after 16 minutes.

Myracle Matara then put Wests Tigers on the board in the 25th minute, however Wentworthville winger Alofa Schuster ensured the Magpies maintained control over the scoreline with her own four-pointer.

Sarah Colman’s conversion, and a penalty goal just before the break meant the home team led 16-4 at half-time.

Wests Tigers were the better side in the second half as consistently strong performers, Cheyenne Baker and Darcy Eade’s tries bookended Wentworthville back-rower Chantel Tugaga’s effort.
