Match Report: NSW Women’s Premiership Round 10 vs St George

Wests Tigers have scored their third win of the NSW Women’s Premiership season, coming away with a 14-4 victory over St George at Lidcombe Oval.

Leading 8-0 at the break, the home side didn’t let their advantage slip in the second half and secured their third win in four games, with the team continuing to produce some quality form late in the season.

Jessica Whelan scored first after 9 minutes, with fellow winger Darcy Eade grabbing a second try for Wests Tigers.

A teenage flyer, Eade has proven to be one to watch after she joined the club from Illawarra for this season.

Neither four-pointer was converted by halfback Emily Curtain, to make it an 8-0 Wests Tigers lead at the break.

St George front-rower Breanna Wood crashed over to put the Dragons right back into the contest, however, Katalina Vave’s 58th-minute effort was converted by Curtain to give Wests Tigers a ten-point lead with ten minutes remaining.

14-4 was the final scoreline, with Wests Tigers emerging victorious at Lidcombe Oval in Sydney’s western suburbs.
