Match Preview: NRLW Round 7 vs Cowboys

Wests Tigers will make their second away trip in as many weeks in Round 7, as the NRLW side takes on the Cowboys in Townsville.

After falling to defeat against the Knights at McDonald Jones Stadium last weekend, the visiting Wests Tigers are hoping to secure their first win of the season against the Cowboys, who have a 3-3 win-loss record to date in 2024.

There are some team changes for Wests Tigers, as Salma Nour (knee) and Sophie Curtain (hand) are ruled out.

Bo Vette-Welsh will move back to fullback in place of Tess Staines, as Leianne Tufuga and Rikeya Horne return to the lineup after a knee injury and HIA protocol respectively.

19-year-old hooker Chelsea Savill will come onto the interchange bench to make her NRLW debut.

Savill is a promising young dummy half who joined Wests Tigers from Illawarra for this season and scored a try for NSW U19s in their big win over Queensland in June.

The home side also has several forced changes, with Krystal Blackwell (quad), China Polata (knee) and Lily Peacock (HIA) all ruled out for this clash.

They are replaced by Vitalina Naikore, Essay Banu and Lillian Yarrow.
