Wests Tigers sign Montana Clifford

Wests Tigers are delighted to welcome former Panthers forward, Montana Clifford to the club for the remainder of the 2024 Telstra Women’s Premiership season.

Clifford, who yesterday celebrated her 20th birthday, has been added to the squad as a replacement player following the recent season-ending injuries to Kezie Apps and Harmony Crichton.

Montana began playing rugby league as a 13-year-old for St Mary’s, alongside current Wests Tigers players Brooke Talataina and Crichton. The three players were also teammates for a couple of seasons in the Panthers’ Tarsha Gale Cup squad.

Montana returns to Sydney after playing one season for the Burleigh Bears in the Queensland Women’s Premiership, where she played alongside her new Wests Tigers teammate, Shaianne McGlone.

Montana is available for selection for Sunday’s Round 5 game against the Brisbane Broncos and says she’s excited about having her first session with her new teammates.

I’m really excited to be joining Wests Tigers and I can’t wait to get started,

“This is a great opportunity for me to further develop my game and I am looking forward to putting in the hard work.

“I think this club is building something really special and it’s great to be a part of it.”

Wests Tigers coach NRLW Brett Kimmorley is pleased to have Clifford on board.

We’ve been keeping an eye on Montana for a while now and it’s great that she is now with us,
