Match Report: NSW Cup Round 17 vs Panthers

Western Suburbs Magpies suffered a tough 30-6 loss in the KOE NSW Cup on Saturday afternoon, with the Panthers proving too strong at Lidcombe Oval.

Penrith struck early through winger Daeon Amituanai, and their point-scoring tally ticked over for the remainder of the first half, posting further tries through Asu Kepaoa, Nick Murphy, Zack Lamont and Amituanai.

Magpies five-eighth Declan Casey grabbed his fifth try of the season out of dummy-half to open the second period, with Tallyn Da Silva’s conversion making it a 20-6 Panthers lead after 50 minutes.

Tyrone Peachey grabbed a late try and Amituanai secured his hat-trick in the 74th minute to ensure a comprehensive 30-6 victory for the Panthers.
