Junior League Appreciation Round recognises the role our junior clubs play in developing players and growing participation numbers in rugby league, with some 16 Macarthur-based junior clubs to be represented on Sunday.

Also at Sunday’s game will be more than 200 Wests Tigers pathways players who have represented our club so well this season.

Be sure to give this group of promising young players a big round of applause when they do a lap of honour at half time of the NRL, following on from their awards presentation earlier in the day.

The abundance of local juniors in the NRL squad is a clear indication that the club’s pathways and transition program is working, with three Macarthur youngsters among the nine Wests Tigers players to have made their NRL debuts this season.

Lachie Galvin (Eagle Vale St Andrews), Heath Mason (Thirlmere-Tahmoor Roosters) and Jordan Miller (Liverpool Catholic Club Raiders) are the latest homegrown Macarthur players to hit the top grade with Wests Tigers, while Kit Laulilii (Liverpool Catholic Club Raiders) and Tallyn Da Silva did the same last season.

Keep an eye out at half time of both the NRL and the NSW Cup fixtures for our popular Halftime Heroes relay race, featuring local juniors from the Macarthur region.
