Maroons, Sky Blues name teams for Origin series decider

Queensland coach Tahnee Norris has named a settled team for next week's historic Ampol Women's State of Origin series decider.

Sienna Lofipo will miss the match after suffering a PCL injury in the Maroons' tense 11-10 victory over NSW in the second game. Youngster Keilee Joseph has been promoted to the starting side in her place, with Sophie Holyman named on the interchange.

Emily Bass is also in the frame to feature in Townsville after being named in the extended squad. The outside back missed Game Two with a shoulder injury. Foward Chelsea Lenarduzzi has also been called into the wider squad for the clash.

Meanwhile, the Sky Blues have named an unchanged squad for the first ever series decider in the Ampol Women's State of Origin series.

After narrowly going down on home soil in Game Two, New South Wales coach Kylie Hilder has kept the faith with the same squad of players chosen – Olivia Kernick moving to lock while Keeley Davis shifts back to the bench as the only change from the team named for Game Two.

“Olivia started for us in Games One and Two in the lock position, coming off the bench, so I’ve just formalised that now,” coach Kylie Hilder said.

“We came very close to wrapping up the series in Game Two, and the girls are very focused that we get another chance to do that in Townsville.”

The teams will begin their preparations for the game on Thursday, June 20.
