Match Report: Jersey Flegg Cup Round 14 vs Raiders

Wests Tigers have been defeated 10-8 by Canberra Raiders in Round 14 of the Jersey Flegg Cup at Lidcombe Oval.

The home side held the Raiders scoreless in the second period after trailing trailing 10-4 at half time but were unable to turn opportunities into enough points score a win.

The Raiders opened the scoring after just four minutes through fullback Payten Jenkins before Tigers winger Navren Willett crossed out wide to level the score.

Raiders lock Delahia Wigmore crossed on the half hour mark, his try converted, to give the visitors a 6-poiint lead at the break.

Willett bagged his second try of the match with about 20 minutes remaining to have his team trailing by two points, and after a gripping 70-minutes of action, that’s how remained.

Next up for Wests Tigers is a match against the Warriors as part of a triple-header at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday 15th June.
