Queenslanders added to NRLW roster

Wests Tigers is delighted to announce the signing of Tara Reinke and Shaianne McGlone ahead of the 2024 Telstra Women’s Premiership season.

Both players have signed two-year contracts at Wests Tigers, and were excited to join their new teammates on day one of pre-season training at the Zurich Centre, Concord.

Reinke is a 24-year-old middle forward who made her NRLW debut with Canberra Raiders last year.

The former powerlifter was encouraged by friends to try her hand at rugby league a few years ago and hasn’t looked back.  She started out at Gatton Hawks before a stint at both Easts Tigers and Toowoomba Clydesdales.

“I was out one night, and a couple of mates just said that I should give it a go, and so I did, and I love it,” she said.

“I’m super excited about joining Wests Tigers this season.

“I recently played in the Queensland competition with a couple of girls from here and the energy they brought was next level.

I’m stoked for Wests Tigers to be the next step in my rugby league career.

Tara Reinke

McGlone, a 29-year-old centre, is also relatively new to the game. She began playing rugby league with Nerang Roosters a couple of years ago after 10 years playing Oztag.

The mother of two has also represented Western Australia in netball, and says her husband and kids were keen for her to give rugby league a go.

“I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to be a part of the Wests Tigers NRLW squad,” said McGlone.

I’ve met most of the girls and staff now and I’m already loving the vibes and culture at this club.

Shaianne McGlone

“I am so excited and keen to rip into pre-season with the girls.”

NRLW Coach Brett Kimmorley has welcomed his latest recruits.

“We’re really excited to have Tara and Shaianne join us here at Wests Tigers, and we welcome them and their families to our club,” said Kimmorley.

“They are good people, good footballers, and will add quality and depth to our squad.”
