Lest We Forget: ANZAC Round last year at Campbelltown

West Tigers are calling on Members and fans to make a full day of it when the Broncos come to 'town' as part of ANZAC Round.

The Round 8 clash against Brisbane is one of three games being played at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Saturday and is a repeat of the club’s very first match in the NRL which ended in a 24-all draw on Sunday 6th February 2000.

More than 15,000 fans attended that very first game and a similar crowd is expected on Saturday when the rugby league community will come together to pay tribute to the servicemen and women who have served, and continue to serve, our countries.

There will be plenty happening on the day including the pre-game ANZAC Commemorative Ceremony, and a pre-game corporate event featuring some of Wests Tigers foundation players who played in that very first game against the Broncos.

The club will also pay its respects to Wests Tigers Player #4 Terry Hill, who sadly passed away this week, aged 52.  Several former teammates who played in the club’s very first game alongside Terry, will be in attendance on Saturday.

Wests Tigers have added a few game-day extras to ensure all members and fans enjoy the best possible match day experience in a safe, friendly, and buzzing environment.

Keep an eye out for Wests Tigers new customer service support staff who will be hard to miss in their bright orange ‘here to help’ t-shirts.

These friendly volunteers will be able to help fans with any queries, including guiding people to their correct viewing area.

We will also be implementing a few changes to help speed things up at the entrance gates on Saturday, including extra lanes and each lane being able to accommodate bag checks.

For those who enter the stadium as a group with multiple tickets on the one device, we strongly encourage you to share these digital tickets (or printed tickets) with others in your group, prior to getting to the entry point.

Another measure to reduce waiting time at the entrance will be the use of additional, modern and efficient mobile ticket scanning equipment, and the introduction of a separate corporate entrance, which is located at the Pembroke Road entrance.

Wests Tigers look forward to welcoming you and your group to what promises to be an eventful and highly emotional ANZAC Round at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
