Wests Tigers 2024 Fixtures

Wests Tigers will play five NRL home games at both Campbelltown Sports Stadium and Leichhardt Oval in 2024 with one home game to be played in Magic Round, and one on the road in Tamworth.

Another four stand-alone NRLW home games will also be split evenly between Campbelltown and Leichhardt next season, taking the number of fixtures at our two spiritual homes next year to 14.

Wests Tigers season kicks off against the Raiders in Canberra on Saturday 16th March, following our bye in Round 1.

2024 NRL DRAW - WESTS TIGERS

The first of five home games at Leichhardt Oval is against the Sharks in Round 3, leading into our traditional Easter Monday match-up with the Eels, to be played at CommBank Stadium.

The first of five home games at Campbelltown Sports Stadium is on a Sunday afternoon against the Dragons in Round 6.

Another one to circle in 2024 falls in Round 7 when we play the back-to-back-to-back defending premiers.

Like last season, our one and only meeting with the Panthers will be in Bathurst, almost 12 months to the day since our epic victory at Carrington Park last season.

We hit the road again a few weeks later when we take our home game against Newcastle Knights to Tamworth.

It will be the fifth time we have taken a game to Tamworth dating back to 2018 when we suffered a 2-point loss to the Novocastrians.

It’s then back-to-back games in Queensland starting with our Magic Round ‘home game’ against the Dolphins in Brisbane before a clash against the Cowboys in Townsville.

Three of four fixtures around Origin time are home games including our Round 18 match against Melbourne Storm at Leichhardt.

And then it’s three away games back-to-back including our trip to Auckland to face the Warriors.

Four of our final five games of the regular season are at home including the Cowboys' return to Leichhardt Oval in Round 22.

Our Round 24 fixture against South Sydney is also likely to create some noise. It will be our first ever match against the Rabbitohs in Campbelltown.

Without a true home and away fixture list, where each team plays each other twice, there will never be a perfectly level playing field.  So let’s break it down and see how our 2024 draw stacks up.

In a 17-team competition with 27 rounds and three byes, Wests Tigers will play 12 home games and 12 away games.  We will play each team once (16 games) and eight teams twice, so 24 games in total.

Teams we play twice:

These are the Cowboys, Dolphins, Dragons, Eels, Knights, Rabbitohs, Raiders and Sharks.  Three of these teams (Knights, Sharks and Raiders) made the finals last season, with the Rabbitohs and Eels narrowly missing out.

The teams we play just once in the 27-round season are the Panthers, Broncos, Storm, Warriors, Roosters, Sea Eagles, Titans and Bulldogs.

Five of these teams made the finals including eventual premiers Penrith, beaten grand finalist Brisbane, and the other top-4 teams, the Storm and the Warriors.

Time between games:

In terms of preparation times between games, it looks like we’re a little worse off than some teams, with three 5-day turnarounds.  For our number crunchers, the competition average for 5-day turnarounds in 2024 is 1.5.

We have a quick backup between our Easter Monday match against the Eels and our Round 5 away game against the Dolphins.

Another 5-day turnaround occurs between Magic Round and our Round 12 match against the Cowboys in Townsville.

And our third quick backup is after our Round 24 match against the Bunnies at Campbelltown heading into a Thursday night game against the Sea Eagles at Leichhardt.

Distance travelled:

Compared to most teams, we will be spending a lot less time on the road or in the air.  In fact, while the average distance travelled for each team is around 23,000kms in 2024, Wests Tigers will be clocking up about half that amount.

Dig a bit deeper and the reason for less travel is because Wests Tigers will be playing two-thirds of our games in Sydney.  Of the 24 matches, 16 are in Sydney or Greater Sydney, with another game just a couple of hours up the M1 in Newcastle.
