Sione Hopoate grabbed the first points of the afternoon, after Israel Ogden lobbed the ball over for the powerful winger to score.
Tom Rodwell replied for Newtown shortly after, and the Jets extended their lead through young back-rower Jesse Colquhoun, who returned to the Netwown setup after a stint in Cronulla’s NRL side.
Semisi Kioa burrowed over from dummy half to score for Wests, however Newtown stamped their authority on the contest to end the first half.
Three quick-fire tries to Rodwell, Kayal Iro and Jensen Taumoepeau made it a 28-10 Jets lead at the break.
Newtown picked up where they left off after half-time, with Addison Demetriou proving too strong out of dummy half and Manaia Waitere setting Mawene Hiroti up for a beautiful try from a scrum.
Rodwell then bagged his third try of the afternoon, before Tuku Hau Tapuha bulldozed his way to the line.
A Sam Healey four-pointer and Hiroti conversion brought the Jets to the half-century mark with 11 minutes to go.
A rampaging Aitasi James provided a late consolation try for the Magpies, however opposing prop Caleb Uele replied with a score of his own.
The final try of the afternoon was arguably the best, with Zane Camroux chipping over the top and providing a slick offload for Josh Feledy to score his second try in two games at NSW Cup level.
That concluded the scoring for the afternoon, with Newtown emerging victorious, 56-20.
