The respective programs bring together our best young players from the club’s three junior leagues, namely Wests, Balmain and Macarthur, providing specialist coaching in readiness for next season.
Black Cubs is for players looking to transition into Jersey Flegg in 2024, who have been identified through the SG Ball Cup competition.
The 18-player squad is based in Auckland and will be engaged in several community events while on tour, including visits to Papakura Normal School and Kauri Flats School.
The Cubs will head to Hamilton on Saturday to watch Wests Tigers take on the Warriors at FMG Stadium Waikato before playing their own game on Sunday against a New Zealand Warriors Under 19s/20s development side at Mt Smart Stadium.
This trip completes the Black Cubs 2023 junior representative commitments and has given the club great insight to its future potential SG Ball and Jersey Flegg players.
