
Wests Tigers have suffered an 18-8 defeat to Canberra Raiders in Round 20 of the Jersey Flegg Cup at Lidcombe Oval on Sunday afternoon.

The home team opened the scoring through Tony Sukkar, with Mikey Tannous unable to convert.

Siamani Leuluai crossed shortly after though to put Canberra ahead by two, with dynamic second-rower Josh Billing’s converted try extending the Raiders lead to eight points at the break.
Canberra retained their 12-4 lead until the 58th minute in a gritty second half, when Wests junior Jay Kirk bagged his 11th try of the season.

Wests Tigers fightback was short-lived however, as Raiders halfback Mitch Henderson scored and converted his own try with four minutes remaining, to seal an 18-8 win for the Green Machine.
