Match Report: Jersey Flegg Cup Round 18 vs Eels

Wests Tigers have defeated Parramatta Eels 16-14 in Round 18 of the Jersey Flegg Cup at Ringrose Park on Saturday afternoon.

The visiting Tigers started fast with teenage lock forward Kit Laulilii grabbing the first points of the afternoon.

The try is Laulilii’s first at Jersey Flegg Cup level, with the powerful runner captaining Wests Magpies’ Harold Matthews and SG Ball Cup sides in recent years.

After Parramatta’s Ethyn Martin scored shortly after, damaging centre Josh Feledy then scored his tenth try of the season to further Wests Tigers' lead.

Sione Vaihu continued his strong season with a try of his own, before Martin collected his second of the afternoon to make it a 16-8 Tigers lead at the break.

Front rower Sam Tuivaiti proved impactful off the interchange bench, and brought the Eels within two points after his converted score.

In a gritty second stanza, the score remained 16-14 for the remainder of the contest, as Wests Tigers secured their fifth win of the season.
