Wests Tigers young guns gathered at Leichhardt Oval on Friday evening for the club’s Junior Representatives Presentation Night.
More than 500 people attended the ‘eighth wonder of the world’ to recognise and celebrate the achievements of Wests Tigers pathways’ teams in 2023.
It was a glimpse into the future at the iconic old ground where some of the club’s brightest young stars walked away with individual honours.
Awards were presented to all eight Wests Tigers junior representative teams, including the best and fairest, players’ player, coaches award, best back and best forward.
The event combined teams from Macarthur Wests Tigers (Andrew Johns and Laurie Daley Cup), Balmain and Western Suburbs (Harold Matthews and SG Ball Cup), as well as the junior female teams competing for Wests Tigers in the Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale Cup competitions.
Matt Betsey, General Manager Women’s and Pathways, has congratulated all award winners and the teams they played for.
“As a club we should be very proud of our effort and commitment across all the junior representative teams this season,” said Betsey.
“We have some unique opportunities as a club with teams covering three representative districts, all proudly representing Wests Tigers.
Well done to all of our award winners, and to their teammates as well, for wearing our club colours so proudly.
Matthew Betsey
"I would also like to thank and congratulate our coaching staff, and volunteers.
"Again you have done an outstanding job in helping our club prepare for the future.”
