Here is a story about a generous family, a wonderful school, and a unique community partnership with Wests Tigers.
The school is Mater Dei, a not-for-profit organisation located in Camden which provides quality Catholic education for students with a mild to moderate intellectual disability as their primary disability.
The Kirk family, own and operate renowned International Freestyle Sports Event Company, ARD. The family is also a Wests Tigers player sponsor, purchasing Jersey# 15 in the Players’ Club.
The Kirk family has strong links to Campbelltown, and to Mater Dei, and is using its Wests Tigers partnership to ‘give back’ to the community.
The family’s three children attended St Patrick’s College & St Gregory’s College, Campbelltown and were members of Camden Netball Club, Camden Rams Rugby League Club and Wests Tigers Pathways teams.
The family’s link to Mater Dei dates to the mid 1900’s when the school was an orphanage, and home to the Kirk family’s grandmother, Joan Garner.
The family is ‘giving back’ to the community and to Mater Dei through its partnership with Wests Tigers.
Instead of using the Wests Tigers Players Club sponsorship to promote its own business (ARD), it is using this space to help generate greater community awareness of Mater Dei.
Alysha Kirk says her family is proud to be associated with Wests Tigers and Mater Dei.
“Marter Dei is such a beautiful school and has the most amazing facilities for its students and their families.
It’s richly rewarding for us to be able to give back to the school through our partnership with Wests Tigers.

Sarah Ryan is Director of Development at Mater Dei and says the school is grateful for Kirk family’s support.
“The sponsorship with the Wests Tigers is unique and provides Mater Dei with exposure to a whole new audience,” Ryan said.
To be the beneficiary of this sponsorship is truly very kind and we hope to strengthen this relationship into the future.
