Match Report: NSW Cup Round 12 vs Panthers

Western Suburbs Magpies have suffered a 40-10 defeat to Penrith Panthers in Round 12 of the Knock On Effect NSW Cup at Leichhardt Oval.

Magpies centre Triston Reilly opened the scoring when he exploded past the Panthers defence to collect his fourth try in his last three games for Wests.

Shortly after, Luke Garner ran a nice line to cross on the left, while Preston Riki crashed over beside the uprights to extend the Penrith lead.

Garner bagged a second after 37 minutes, with the away side holding a 14-point lead at the break.

After Daeon Amituanai scored for Penrith, Israel Ogden finished off a backline shift on the right wing to bring the Magpies back into the game.

Tom Jenkins bagged his 10th try of the NSW Cup season to re-establish a big lead for Penrith, and after Will Smith and Brandon Mansfield were both sin-binned late, the Panthers grabbed two late scores to seal a big win.
