Match Report: Jersey Flegg Round 3 vs Bulldogs

In a tough afternoon for Wests Tigers’ Jersey Flegg Cup side, a classy Bulldogs side took home the points at a sweltering Kirkham Oval on Saturday.

Montel Sione Lisala opened the scoring for Canterbury, with the winger showing great pace to dash to the corner.

However, Wests Tigers fired back shortly after, with a flick pass from damaging centre Sione Vaihu allowing Compton Fuatimau to touchdown on the right.

When Sione Moala and Samuel Inoke crashed over for Canterbury, the Tigers desperately tried to keep the margin to 10 points before half-time but Reuben Moyle scored on the hooter to give the Bulldogs a 20-6 lead at the break.

Bulldogs hooker Danny Ghantous grubbered for himself to score the opening points of the second stanza, with Cameron Lawrence and Inoke (who scored a double), crossing late to secure a big win for the Bulldogs.
