Match Report: Jersey Flegg R2 vs Knights

Wests Tigers’ Jersey Flegg Cup side scored a solid Round 2 victory on Sunday, showcasing their attacking ability in the win at Leichhardt Oval.

The home side got off to a fast start when Zane Camroux grubber-kicked through the line for fullback Marcus Tanner to touchdown.

The Knights went on to score three consecutive tries to take a strong lead, before two Tigers props, in the debuting John Tuipulotu and Herman Tofaeono crossed for their first Jersey Flegg Cup four-pointers.

A dropped ball from Newcastle allowed winger Jay Kirk to race away for his first score of the new season and a sharp dart from interchange hooker Bailey Hodges provided Wests Tigers with an extended lead.

A dropped ball provided Knights winger Jahoiyakim Afoa with a clear path to the try-line but Josh Feledy, in his first Jersey Flegg Cup appearance of the season, collected a misfielded bomb from the Knights and flew to the left touchline to secure a 32-20 win for Wests Tigers.
