A young Wests Tigers Women’s Premiership team fell to a 38-6 defeat against Central Coast Roosters in Wyong.

With several regulars missing from the line-up, Tarsha Gale player Mia Taylor was handed her HNW debut.

The youthful Tigers fought bravely against a strong Roosters outfit, holding them to a 10-0 lead at half time, before the Roosters ran away with the contest late in the game.

Dummy half Ebony Prior scored Wests Tigers’ only four-pointer, continuing her run as one of the competition’s leading try scorers.

Harvey Norman Tarsha Gale Cup (U/19s)

With two of their star players being called up to the Women’s Premiership side, compounded by a growing casualty ward, an inexperienced Tarsha Gale Cup team fell to the Panthers away from home on Saturday.

The Tigers’ three debutants (Taytana Pati Ah-Cheung, Hannah Kengike, Iemaima Etuale) were admirable in their first games at this level, with Ah-Cheung crossing for the away side’s first try.

A strong second half performance was led by a gutsy forward pack which continues to impress.

UNE SG Ball Cup (U/19s) - Western Suburbs

Wests’ SG Ball Cup side bounced back from their first loss in Round 4 to defeat the previously unbeaten Panthers, away from home.

Key spine stars, Lachlan Galvin, Tallyn Da Silva and Heath Mason all got their names on the scoresheet, with Da Silva scoring his fourth try in four games this season.

UNE SG Ball Cup (U/19s) - Balmain

Balmain’s SG Ball Cup side, minus stars Josh Feledy and Oliver Lawry, was outclassed by the Roosters at Lidcombe on Saturday.

It was a fast start for Balmain with William Malloy scoring his third try of the season, before the Tigers were overrun by a talented Roosters outfit, whose five-eighth Cassius Tia scored a double.

Balmain will be looking to secure its third win of the season this weekend against Illawarra.

UNE Harold Matthews Cup (U/17s) - Western Suburbs

Michael Nassar shone in the backs, and prop Edwin Langi was again a star performer, putting a huge hit on from the game’s kick-off and producing an outstanding overall effort in the middle of the field.

Tough, mature displays have proved characteristic for this side as the season has progressed.

SLE Laurie Daley Cup (U/18s) - Macarthur Wests

A heart-breaking late defeat for Macarthur Wests’ Laurie Daley Cup side means their season has come to a premature end.

Playing for a spot in next weekend’s Grand Final Qualifier, the likes of Noah McKenzie and Harry Delaney shone throughout, with only a 66th minute winner from the Dragons putting the result to bed.

SLE Andrew Johns Cup (U/16s) - Macarthur Wests

Macarthur Wests Tigers’ Andrew Johns Cup team’s dream run has continued, after they ended the regular season with five wins and zero losses.

After a game-saving try-saver in Round 4, James Bengura opened the scoring and was impressive throughout.

Macarthur Wests Tigers now enter the Grand Final Qualifier this weekend.
