Luke Brooks desperately wants to play finals footy in 2023 and believes his own game will benefit from recent changes at the club.
The 28-year-old is now fully fit having overcome a leg injury, as he enters the final block of training in his eleventh pre-season at Wests Tigers.
Brooks has high expectations for the season ahead and thinks Api Koroisau and Benji Marshall can give his own game some extra bounce.
“The number 9 is so important these days,” explained Brooks.
“He’ll [Api] really get the forwards going for us and when the halves want the ball he’ll get it to us.”
“I’m really excited to play alongside him, he’s a great player.”
Brooks is also keen to feed off the knowledge of new Assistant Coach Benji Marshall, who he played alongside and against for eight seasons.
“Not much has changed, he’s [Marshall] still the same bloke,” said Brooks.
“Just to learn from such a smart footy brain, it can only be good for my footy.”
I’m really enjoying learning under Benji."

Brooks says pre-season so far has been hard but fun.
“There’s been a lot of smiling faces and I’ve really enjoyed it so far,” he said.
“It’s a credit to the coaches coming in, making it a fun environment and all the new players we’ve got too have given us a real spring in our step.”
As for making the finals in 2023, Brooks is keener than ever to help make it happen.
“It’s everything [playing finals footy], that’s what we play for,” said Brooks.
We want to go all the way, that’s our main motivation.
