Wests Tigers is delighted to announce that Brett Kimmorley will coach the club’s NRLW team for its inaugural season in 2023.
The former NSW and Kangaroos halfback has held multiple roles since joining the club at the start of the year as Pathways Coaching Manager.
He took charge of the eventual premiership-winning Harvey Norman Women’s side in April before becoming interim head coach of the NRL side for the final 12 rounds of the 2022 season.
CEO Justin Pascoe says Kimmorley thoroughly deserves to be at the helm as the club enters a new era.
“Brett has shown in a short space of time with us just how capable he is,” said Pascoe.
Anyone who can take on and perform three different roles in as many months, is both versatile and committed.

“He has been professional and diligent with everything asked of him during a difficult season, and we are delighted that he will lead Wests Tigers into its very first NRLW season.”
Kimmorley is keen to reconnect with many of the players he coached earlier this year.
“I loved my short time with the Harvey Norman team, and we formed a strong bond in just a month or so,” Kimmorley said.
“To see the team win the premiership was a special moment for the club, and I was thrilled for them.
“Taking charge of the first ever Wests Tigers NRLW team is an honour, and I would like to thank the club for this opportunity.”
Captain of Wests Tigers HNW team, Emily Curtain says Kimmorley is the right person for the job.
“All the girls really respect Noddy and learned a lot from him this year,” said Curtain.
The Campbelltown junior believes there will be steady growth in female participation in Southwest Sydney over the next few years.
“It’s huge for our sport with our local club now having an NRLW team,” added Curtain.
“I’ve seen in just the past couple of seasons girls progressing through our pathways, but then going elsewhere to join an NRLW club.
This is huge opportunity for so many young players to aspire to play NRLW here with the Wests Tigers.
