Juniors honoured at Centre of Excellence

Wests Tigers would like to thank and congratulate all players and staff who were involved in our junior representative teams in 2022.

2022 has been a hugely successful season for the club's pathways teams with the majority of Wests Tigers junior rep sides making the finals of their respective competitions.

Wests Magpies claimed a maiden premiership in the Harold Matthews Cup, our Balmain SG Ball side made the finals, as did our teams representing Macarthur Wests Tigers in the Andrew Johns Cup (U/16s) and Laurie Daley Cup (U/18s) competitions.

It was a hugely successful season for our women's teams as well, with Wests Tigers making the finals in the Tarsha Gale Cup (U/19s) and of course our club's maiden title in the Harvey Norman Women's Premiership.

Wests Tigers Junior Representative Awards night was recently held at the new Centre of Excellence, where players from all teams were given a guided tour.

Head of Pathways, Matthew Betsey says the event showcased a strong year for the club's development teams.

"It was tremendous to bring our younger players through and show them this amazing facility," said Betsey.

"Many of them were blown away by it, which is understandable.

They can now visualise what might be down the track for them with continued hard work in our pathways system.

Matt Betsey

"All of our rep teams have done so well this season, and they should all be extremely proud of their achievements."
