Wests Tigers are finalising alternate venues for several home games next season which fall during and around the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The club’s vision is to secure long-term deals with both Campbelltown City Council and Inner West Council, which will see home games played at Wests Tigers’ spiritual and traditional grounds, namely Campbelltown Sports Stadium and Leichhardt Oval.
The 2023 season, however, will be disrupted by the FIFA Women’s World Cup, providing the club with some logistical challenges.
Campbelltown Sports Stadium is one of many venues being considered across a three-month World Cup window, beginning 29th June. Leichhardt Oval is being utilised by FIFA, so it too is unavailable for Wests Tigers games during this period.
Simply put, Wests Tigers will not be playing home games at these venues during this period.
The club is in the process of finalising a ‘stadium plan’ for next season, one which will provide members and fans the greatest opportunity to attend as many home games as possible in 2023.
Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe says while next season will present some challenges, long term, the club’s vision is clear.
“We will continue to push the DNA and identity of Wests Tigers in every important decision we make, and clearly our stadium strategy is hugely important.
“The same ethos was applied to our recent coaching appointments (Tim Sheens, Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah) for next season and beyond.
It is our intention to work with both councils to secure a longer-term stadium strategy that reflects our traditional heartlands and spiritual homes."
Wests Tigers CEO, Justin Pascoe
"It makes perfect sense to continue to invest heavily in these two areas and give the local communities more of what they want.
“We are still working through what next season will look like but plan to have this locked away in the coming weeks.
Yes, there will be some challenges, but we’ll work through them together."

Membership and season ticket packages for 2023 are being finalised with details to be released in the coming weeks.
