Full house follows big week for the club

Brent Naden, Asu Kepaoa and Starford To'a will run out to a full house at Scully Park on Saturday after extending their contracts through the week.

To’a and Kepaoa have both renewed their deals until the end of 2024, while Naden will remain at Concord for the next three seasons.

The trio has enjoyed a sparkling month of football, leading their side to an away victory over the Broncos and strong performances against the top two sides in the competition.

After joining the club in the pre-season, To’a has demonstrated his versatility this year, playing in every position in the outside backs.

He’s since found a home in the centres, where he scored crucial second-half tries against the Cowboys and Broncos.

To’a puts his strong form down to the confidence that the coaching staff has invested within him as they encourage the young Kiwi to express his style of play.

Since coming here, I’ve played more consistent footy and certainly felt more comfortable within the club."

Starford To'a

“It’s exciting to look at the future and see what we’ve got here, so hopefully we can start to build on that”

Kepaoa agreed with his centre partner, stating that he is eager to repay the faith that the club kept in him as he recovered from two lengthy injuries.

Kepaoa has been one of the club’s strongest performers this season, running for an average of 120 metres per game in his eight appearances since returning to the field.

He played five matches alongside Benji Marshall in his rookie season and acknowledged that the chance to develop under the club legend was too good to pass up.

As a young Kiwi boy, everyone looked up to Benji. He was one of my favourites and everyone used to copy him at school."

Asu Kepaoa

“This opportunity is a reward for all the hard work I’ve put in to overcome my past challenges with injuries and it’ll provide great security for me and my little family.”

Naden echoed Kepaoa's sentiments, stating that the opportunity to learn from a coach like Tim Sheens was a driving factor behind his decision to extend his stay at the club.

He’s one of the greatest coaches in our game, so to be under him for the next two years is pretty exciting.”

Brent Naden

Naden has crossed for four tries in his past three matches and is looking to continue his momentum through the remainder of the season.

“I’m back enjoying my football and I just want to finish the year strong with the boys.”
