Match Report: NSW Cup Round 18 vs Panthers

Western Suburbs Magpies secured a big victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating the 1st-placed Panthers at Leichhardt Oval.

The two sides went try-for-try in the first half, with Brandon Tumeth and Johnny Mitsias’ efforts met with scores from Logan Cohen and Luke Sommerton for the away side.

Up 14-12 at the break, the Magpies scored three unanswered tries through Tyrone Peachey, Junior Pauga and returning outside-back, Trey Peni, to put the result to bed.

Two late consolation tries to Penrith reduced the margin to 12, however after half-time, the Magpies never looked in any doubt, coming away with a 32-20 win.
