Wests Tigers showed plenty of positive signs in attack but were unable to get the job done against Manly Warringah in Round 19 as the Sea Eagles ran away with a 44-24 victory at Suncorp Stadium.
The loss was compounded with Wests Tigers forwards Luke Garner and Alex Seyfarth suffering injuries and were both unable to finish the match after leaving the field in the opening half an hour.
It was a good weekend for favourites across the NRL in Round 19 with just one upset in eight games — a thrilling two-point victory for Canberra over Parramatta on Thursday night.
Although not convincing results, Melbourne and Penrith continued their winning ways with narrow triumphs over North Queensland and Brisbane respectively — setting up a blockbuster grand final rematch this Saturday.
