Wests Tigers Jersey Flegg will look to continue their impressive unbeaten run this year when they take on the Parramatta Eels in their Round 14 clash at Merrylands Oval on Saturday.
Wests Tigers were mightily impressive in a last-start win over the then second-placed Penrith Panthers at Lidcombe Oval — running in six tries to four as they emerged with their seventh win from 10 games this season.
With the side's three other fixtures finishing in draws, Wayne Lambkin's men enter Round 14 still undefeated in the Jersey Flegg competition and three points clear of the second-placed Dragons with a game in hand.
They'll face off against a determined Parramatta outfit this week who enter Round 14 off the back of several frustrating results. Downed in a close match by the Roosters prior to their two-week bye, the Eels then went down to the Rabbitohs in a last-minute defeat in Round 12 that left the blue and gold outside the top four.
With just four points separating the Eels in eighth from the third-placed Panthers, Saturday's game at Merrylands Oval is shaping as a crucial clash for the home side with the second, third, fourth and fifth-placed teams all facing off against each other.
Wests Tigers will lineup unchanged from their last-start win over Penrith with several in-form players looking to continue their good performances this year.
Halfback Ben Stevanovic has scored more points than any other player this year (88) while winger Liam Scolari and fullback Logen Dillon sit first and second respectively on the competition's leading try-scorers list.
