Having already beaten St. George-Illawarra earlier this month, Wests Tigers will be looking to make it a perfect two wins from two matches against the Dragons in 2021 when they host the Red V at Bankwest Stadium on Friday night.

Michael Maguire’s men will be eager to bounce back from last week’s heartbreaking loss to the Warriors as they play their first Friday night prime-time game of the season.

It will be a special occasion at Bankwest Stadium as Wests Tigers and the entire NRL celebrate and recognise Indigenous Round.

Wests Tigers fullback Daine Laurie — a proud Bundjalung man — will be representing his family and culture when he runs out for his first Indigenous Round clash on Friday night.

Indigenous star James Roberts will also be eager for a big performance in the significant round as he returns from injury.

Prop Tom Amone will become Wests Tigers Player #245 on Friday night after being named to play his first game for the club.

Amone has been in strong form in the NSW Cup competition — having not lost since he joined the side in Round 4 — with an average of 159 metres per game.

Although the visitors are missing a number of players through injuries and suspensions, Wests Tigers know the match will be a good test against the Dragons, who sit seventh on the ladder with five wins and six losses.

The two sides played out a tense 16-8 win for Wests Tigers when they met earlier in the year, and the Wests Tigers Members will certainly be hoping for a similarly positive result this time around as they look to witness their first home win of 2021.

A Wests Tigers victory would move the home team to just one win outside the top eight at the half-way mark of the season, although Maguire is more focussed on seeing a solid 80-minute performance from his men.

LATEST TEAM NEWS
