Wests Tigers Coach Michael Maguire has made a handful of changes for his side’s Round 12 clash against the St. George-Illawarra Dragons at Bankwest Stadium, home of the Burramattagal people.

Strike outside back James Roberts has been named to return from injury to play in the NRL’s Indigenous Round, having missed the last four weeks with a pectoral injury.

Roberts has been named on the wing with Tommy Talau shifting to centre in place of Joey Leilua, who drops out of the side.

Tom Amone has been named on the bench for his first game in Wests Tigers colours — set to become Wests Tigers Player #245 and the ninth player to make their club debut this season.

Amone previously played nine games for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2019 and 2020, before joining Wests Tigers ahead of the 2021 NRL season.

Amone joins Shawn Blore, Alex Seyfarth and Thomas Mikaele as part of a four-forward interchange bench, with Jake Simpkin dropping back to the reserves with Stefano Utoikamanu, Michael Chee Kam and NSW Cup outside back Kiah Cooper.

For the Dragons, Josh Kerr (shoulder charge) misses a week after entering an early guilty plea and is replaced by Tariq Sims, who returns after serving a one-week ban.

Paul Vaughan moves into the starting side in place of Poasa Faamausili with Daniel Alvaro coming onto the bench.

Cody Ramsey, Jaiyden Hunt and Max Feagai all failed HIAs during their loss to the Sharks with the first two named and Feagai replaced by the returning Brayden Wiliame (calf). His inclusion sees Talatau Amone drop back to the interchange with Gerard Beale earning the first start of his Dragons return in the centres.

Wests Tigers will be keen to produce a similar performance to their previous outing against the St. George-Illawarra Dragons earlier this year, which saw Michael Maguire's side earn a 16-8 victory at WIN Stadium in Round 8.
