Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire said he’s looking forward to seeing his players build on last week’s winning performance when they host the Gold Coast Titans at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Saturday night

Following a gutsy win over the Dragons in Round 8, Maguire’s men are beaming with confidence and are on the hunt for back-to-back wins for the first time this season

“There’s a difference when you’re on the right side of the scoreboard, but we’ve got to back it up,” Maguire said.

“We’ve got an opportunity to show what we’re capable of and I’m looking forward to letting the boys do that talking on that one.

“We need to make sure we turn up each week. We were good last week, and it was great to get the win, but we need to back it up again this week.

“We’ve got a great opportunity to build on what we’ve done. We need to make sure we take control of the situation.”

Maguire praised his playing group’s attitude and was pleased with how they worked for each other last weekend — something he wants replicated against the Titans.

“Our attitude is in a really good place at the moment and we need to keep it there,” Maguire said.

“We’ve got to look after each other with the things that we do on the field.

“The most pleasing part [against the Dragons] was them going out there and doing what we asked of them for the full 80 minutes — that’s how you win NRL games. We’ve got to work hard together.”
