Wests Tigers and Bulldogs split points in Jersey Flegg

Wests Tigers Jersey Flegg have kept their unbeaten start to the season alive with a 24-all draw against Canterbury-Bankstown at Leichhardt Oval.

The Bulldogs scored three late tries to set up a thrilling finish in the second of four games at the iconic venue, and a last-minute four-pointer to Bulldogs' Kurtis Morrin ensured the competition points would be split.

The draw keeps the U/21’s team second on the ladder following five rounds.

Speedy fullback Logen Dillon had an impressive outing as he bagged a hat-trick while producing a number of classy touches.

Wests Tigers winger Liam Scolari scored the game’s opening try of the afternoon when he received a delicate flick pass from centre Israel Ogden to score in the right corner.

The Bulldogs hit back just moments later when Kurtis Morrin crossed, and although the away side gained plenty of moment, Wests Tigers defended well to hold an 8-6 lead at the break following Dillon’s first try.

The fullback bagged another four-pointer after half-time before Timanu Alexander extended Wests Tigers’ lead.

The home side held a 12-point lead in the second half, but the Bulldogs came home strongly to record a draw.
