Wests Tigers halfback Luke Brooks is excited for the club’s Easter Monday clash against the Parramatta Eels — claiming the annual fixture is his highlight of the season.

After the team claimed their first win of the season against Newcastle last Sunday, Brooks is eager to play in front of a packed house at Stadium Australia on Monday afternoon.

“It’s my favourite game of the year,” Brooks claimed.

“It should be a good clash because we’ve had some great matches on Easter Monday, and it should be no different this week.

“It’s a great match to play in. We always get a big crowd and there’s a great feel about it. Hopefully we get as many Wests Tigers Members and fans there as possible.”

NRL Team Announcement: Round 4

Brooks is looking forward to the challenge against the Eels — who have started the year with three wins from as many starts — and said it will be a good test against one of the in-form teams.

“The Eels are in some pretty good form. They had a tough win on the weekend against the Sharks,” Brooks said.

“They’re always a tough game, so we’ll have to match it with their middle.”

The halfback said the team is up for the challenge after beating the Knights in Round 3.

“Winning was a massive confidence boost. It was exactly what we needed after a disappointing two games,” Brooks said.

“It was really important for us. We weren’t happy with our start to the season because we knew we were better than that.

“That win. Will give us extra confidence and hopefully we can continue winning.”
