Vale Masada Iosefa

Wests Tigers would like to extend its sincerest condolences to the family of former player Masada Iosefa following his tragic passing.

The former Samoa international played 14 NRL games for Wests Tigers across the 2012 and 2013 seasons following a four-year stint at Penrith Panthers.

Iosefa was Wests Tigers Player #153.

A crafty and dynamic hooker by trade, Masada played 57 NRL games in total throughout his career, scoring 11 tries along the way.

He had the honour of representing Samoa on four occasions and was also a member of the New Zealand World Cup squad in 2008.

In recent years he played in Queensland for the Capras in the State Cup and turned out for the Rockhampton Brothers Rugby Club in 2020, winning a premiership.

Following his NRL playing career, Iosefa also worked as a youth worker and always looked at giving back to the community.

The thoughts of everyone at Wests Tigers are with Masada’s family, friends and his former teammates at this time.
