Fresh off his best individual season since debuting back in 2013, Wests Tigers winger David Nofoaluma will have his sights set on an all-time club record in 2021 after inking a new four-year deal.
Secured in Wests Tigers colours until at least the end of the 2025 NRL season, the club's reigning Kelly-Barnes Award winner has already rocketed up the club's all-time try-scoring list with a whopping 17 four-pointers in season 2020.
Now, his sights will be set on reaching the top of that list — and beyond.
With 74 tries in 139 games for the club, the Campbelltown junior requires just 11 more tries to become the club's all-time top try-scorer with Life Members Chris Lawrence and Benji Marshall currently leading the way with 84 tries.
It's a number Nofoaluma looks likely to surpass in the near future should his current try-scoring rate continue, and he'll likely be looking beyond that number still with a new four-year deal added to his already existing contract.
Only 72 players in NRL history — dating back over a century — have reach the 100 try mark in their career while fewer still have done so playing for one club.
Nofoaluma's try-scoring rate of 53% (74 tries in 139 games for the club) certainly has him on pace to reach that mark in the next few years and clearly stands out amongst all the potent scorers in Wests Tigers history.
Of players to have played at least 50 games for the club, only Pat Richards (63%), Kevin McGuinness (55%) and James Tedesco (55%) possess better try-scoring rates than Nofoaluma but none have managed it with the winger's longevity.
And with a four-year contract extension now secured, Wests Tigers Members and fans will certainly have plenty more tries to celebrate in the years to come!
