Wests Tigers have today confirmed that the club’s 2021 NRL trial match will now be played against the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles after an adjustment to the pre-season schedule.
Originally scheduled to face Canberra at Leichhardt Oval on Friday, 26th February, Wests Tigers will now face the Sea Eagles on Sunday, 28th February following the release of the 2021 NRL Draw, which will see Michael Maguire’s men face the Raiders Round 1.
The change in trial opponents from Canberra to Manly is reciprocated by the Roosters, who will now face the Green Machine after being put in a similar position — scheduled to face the Sea Eagles in their season opener on Saturday, 13th March.
To accommodate the change, Wests Tigers’ trial match fixture has been moved from Friday night to Sunday afternoon at Leichhardt Oval with kickoff at 5:00pm AEDT.
The NRL trial will serve as part of a doubleheader between Wests Tigers and the Sea Eagles with the club’s respective NSW Cup sides — Western Suburbs Magpies and Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles — also set to play against each other in a trial match from 2:45pm AEDT.
Details around ticketing and Member access will be communicated further in the new year with Wests Tigers and Manly-Warringah Members to have priority access.
