Harry Grant named 2020 Dally M Rookie of the Year

Wests Tigers hooker Harry Grant has been crowned the 2020 Dally M Rookie of the Year at tonight’s awards ceremony at Fox Sports Studios.

The 22-year-old is the second Wests Tigers player to win the award, with Luke Brooks previously claiming the honour back in 2014.

Despite making his first-grade debut for the Melbourne Storm in 2019, Grant was eligible for the award under the selection criteria given he played less than three NRL games in his career at the start of the season.

Moving to Wests Tigers for the 2020 season, Grant enjoyed a remarkable first season in the NRL with eight try contributions and six linebreak assists to go with an average of 82 metres and 49 tackles per game.

Having already clinched the club’s Rookie of the Year Award and the RLPA Rookie of the Year Award, Grant will now look to cap off his incredible year with his State of Origin debut, having been named in the initial squad by new Queensland Coach Wayne Bennett.
