Marshall ruled out in final game for Wests Tigers

Wests Tigers captain Benji Marshall won't return for the remainder of his side's Round 20 clash against the Parramatta Eels after suffering knee and rib injuries in a tackle during the first half.

Eels playmaker Will Smith was put on report for the incident that saw Marshall suffer a medial cruciate ligament injury as well as several broken ribs — ruling him out for the remainder of the contest after just 18 minutes.

The match was Marshall's 257th and final game for Wests Tigers after the club had confirmed earlier in the year he would not be re-signed for the 2021 season.
