Neds Match Preview: Round 11

Wests Tigers will look to further consolidate their spot in the top eight when they take on competition heavyweights Parramatta in the opening game of Round 11 at Bankwest Stadium.

Entering the round in seventh position and full of confidence after their 48-0 thrashing of the Brisbane Broncos last Friday, Michael Maguire's side know they will need to produce a similarly strong performance this weekend if they're to knock off the Eels for their first win over a top eight side this season.

Despite going down to the Sea Eagles last week and surrendering top spot on the ladder in the process, Parramatta are certainly still one of the title favourites this season and will be looking to keep their unbeaten start at home alive this week.

The Eels have lost just three times at Bankwest Stadium since its official opening last year, and had two wins over Wests Tigers at the venue in 2019.

After their 48-point drubbing of the Broncos, Wests Tigers are expected to field a near identical side for Thursday's game with Billy Walters and Benji Marshall combining well in the halves against Brisbane. Both starting for the first time in over a month, Marshall and Walters each scored a try and set one up, and will look to combine again with in-form hooker Harry Grant this weekend.

For Parramatta, Blake Ferguson, Mitchell Moses and Ryan Matterson have all been named to return after they sat out last week's loss to the Sea Eagles.

Moses' return at halfback and Ferguson's inclusion on the wing sees Jai Field and George Jennings drop back to the reserves, while Matterson's return Brad Takairangi reverting to the bench in place of David Gower.
