Neds Match Preview: Round 5

Wests Tigers will look to bounce back from a disappointing defeat in Round 4 when they take on the Canberra Raiders this Saturday in their first home game under the revised 2020 season.

Both sides enter the contest off the back of last start defeats, and will be keen to bounce back in the winners circle when they meet at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

After going down to the Titans in Round 4, Wests Tigers Coach Michael Maguire has rung in a number of team changes for Saturday's game — none bigger than the decision to play Josh Reynolds at five-eighth instead fo Benji Marshall.

Marshall has instead been named among the reserves for Saturday.

The Kiwi veteran wasn't the only change made by Maguire, with Robert Jennings, Billy Walters, Luke Garner and Oliver Clark all dropping out of the side that featured last week. Tommy Talau will play just his second first-grade game after being named on the wing while Zane Musgrove, Michael Chee Kam and Russell Packer all included — the latter set to play his first NRL game in over a year.

By contrast, the Raiders head in to the game relatively unchanged and determined to make amends from a disappointing performance against the Newcastle Knights that saw Ricky Stuart's men finish with 55 missed or ineffective tackles.

Canberra will be without the fiery Corey Horsburgh after he was withdrawn on Friday. His absence sees the experienced Sia Soliola moving in to the run-on side while Englishman Ryan Sutton joins the squad in his first game back from injury.
