Ratuvakacereivalu to make international debut for Fijii

Western Suburbs Magpies prop Joseph Ratuvakacereivalu will be running off the interchange bench in his international Test debut for Fiji as they take on Samoa this Saturday.

Having featured for the Fiji Prime Minister's XIII against Australia earlier this year for his representative debut, the 20-year-old will now make his full Test debut for the Bati — becoming the third Wests Tigers player to appear for Fiji.

The call up for the Campbelltown junior follows his consistent performances for Brett Hodgson’s Canterbury Cup side this season. In 13 matches, Ratuvakacereivalu scored three tries and proved a constant threat with the ball in hand — racking up over 400 post-contact metres despite missing a large portion due to injury.

Ratuvakacereivalu will be facing Wests Tigers and Samoan representative Michael Chee Kam, who will be making his third appearance for the Pacific nation.

Samoa and Fiji will kick-off at 12:20pm AEDT from Eden Park as part of an international triple-header on the day that will also see New Zealand take on Great Britain (3:00pm AEDT) and Australia face Tonga (5:40pm AEDT).

All matches will be broadcast live in Australia via FOX League.
