Wests Tigers fullback Corey Thompson has been named the K-Town Man of the Match after a strong return from injury against the Newcastle Knights in his side's thrilling 28-26 win.

After sitting out last week with an ankle injury, Thompson returned to the number one jumper in style — scoring two first half tries to take his season tally to nine.

The fullback finished with a team-high 146 metres from his 18 carries, as well as five tackle breaks and four kick defusals to keep the Knights at bay.
