Wests Tigers have today finalised the club's NRL squad for 2019 with the promotion of two players to the Top 30 NRL squad.

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that Tommy Talau and Alex Seyfarth have been promoted to the club’s NRL squad for the remainder of the 2019 season.

Talau and Seyfarth were due to be promoted to the first-grade squad next season after originally signing Development Players in 2019 but have been rewarded for strong performances throughout pre-season and the year to date.

The promotion of Talau and Seyfarth to the NRL squad sees Wests Tigers finalise their 30-man squad prior to the June 30 deadline, as per NRL requirements.

The son of former Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs player Willie Talau, the 19-year-old Talau outside back has proven himself to be a player on the rise with selection in the NSW U/18’s and Australian Schoolboys squads last year, and had already made the step up in 2019 to the club’s Canterbury Cup side after originally starting in Jersey Flegg.

Capable of playing in the halves, Talau has been playing primarily as a centre since joining the club and offers an exciting option for Maguire going forward in 2019.

A local junior of Wests Tigers, Seyfarth will look to continue his strong progression as part of the full-time squad after featuring in the club’s Canterbury Cup side in the past two years — adding some extra muscle to the Wests Tigers engine room in the coming seasons.

The club’s other 2019 Development Players — Jock Madden, Kane Bradley and Henry Lealuga-Puhotau — are all eligible for first-grade selection after Round 16, per NRL rules.
